National Smile Month at Crescent Dental Care

National smile month is the UK’s largest and  long- running campaign to promote good oral health. National Smile month highlights key messages which go along way in helping develop and maintain a healthy mouth.

Main three key messages

  • Brush your teeth last thing at night and at least one other occasion through out the day for two minutes, using a fluoride toothpaste
  • cut down on how often you have sugary drinks and foods
  • Visit your dentist regular

Here at Crescent Dental Care the team have made a display board which will be on show in our waiting room, the board is filled with top tips and advice from us on keeping a healthy mouth!

Lets all get involved in the fun!

After 20 years in dentistry, 10 as a dental nurse and 10 as a dental hygienist I have decided to pursue a career in a very different field.

I have always wanted to work with animals and as I have two dogs of my own (Ralphy & Ruby) I have decided to advance my knowledge in dog grooming, so I can become a qualified dog groomer and hopefully set up my own business in the future.

I have worked at Crescent Dental Care for 9 years this is the longest practice I have worked in not only for the lovely patients I have met and got to know over this time but I have made amazing friendships with all the staff here, they are and will continue to be my friends and I thank them for their support in what was a very hard decision to make,

but in life sometimes you have to take risks and here’s hoping I can make many dogs and owners very happy like I have the patients here

Thanks For everything Staff /Friends and patients

National Smile Month

image_1_7_nsm-16-banner National smile month aims to improve the UK’s oral health! The campaign hopes to raise awareness of important health issues, and make a positive difference to the oral health of millions.

Take a look at the National Smile Month website to find out more!

http://www.nationalsmilemonth.org/

What are we doing for national smile month?

The team at crescent dental are taking part in the two minute challenge! We are taking two minutes everyday out of our busy schedule to brush our teeth! Brushing together for a whole two minutes is very fun! Make sure you have your timer at the ready! The average brushing time is 46 seconds so using a timer to brush is very helpful as you realise how long two minutes actually is! Wow!

Crescent Dental Care have also had visits from our lovely patients during this half term, the children have had lots of fun coming in and learning about oral health, they’ve also had lots of fun brushing Rory the lions teeth!

What are you doing to improve your oral hygiene this month?

Are you brushing for two minutes twice a day using a fluoride toothpaste?

Have you cut down on sugary foods and drinks?

Are you visiting your dentist regularly?

Lets all aim to improve our oral hygiene by starting this month with the rest of the nation!

Happy 40th Brithday National Smile Month!!
